Thanks for coaching us this off-season. I feel like I’ve improved my overall athleticism and have no doubt that the things I’ve learned will have positive effects on my wrestling for years to come.
As a student of fitness and bodybuilding I’ve studied many of the techniques we used, but never would have put them into practice on my own.
Honestly, I didn’t go into the training thinking that I’d get much out of it. But I “drank the Kool-Aid” and made serious gains.
For instance, I’ve gone from 3 handstand pushups to 24, I can now do 85 consecutive pushups, and can hold a handstand for 6 seconds. I’m infinitely more flexible than before! And I have more muscular endurance and recover faster.
In weight training I had continued to lift during the program, but finally stopped. I thought I’d decline in my weightlifting strength, since all of our workouts were bodyweight-only.
Two days ago I bench-pressed 240 pounds – a new personal record! – and earlier today (after not touching the squat rack for 8 months, with an old personal best of 285) I ended up squatting 315 easily.
Most importantly of all, I now have a six-pack without flexing!
I really appreciate all of the work you’ve done. I’ll be proud to wear my Leeger-Trained t-shirt!
